Default Side Airbags?

I searched and came up with squat......

How can i be 110% sure my car has side airbags.....

the reason i ask is because i remember seeing on the dealership sticker side airbags being listed, yet i see no SRS, or AIRBAG stickers, tags, or warnings on my seat or the A pillar.......was i charged for something i dont have??? WTF now i have to dig through a large pile of papers to find that damm sticker

so yea how can i be sure????

sticker on the a-pillar will say "SRS Air Bag". There will also be a sticker on the door jam area that warns that the vehicle has side air bags. Open the drivers door and look.

yes, there should be SRS stamps on your a pillar, and c pillar, and even on the seats themselves. mine does.

it should be more than obvious if you do or don't have side air bags, i knew as soon as i sat down in my car, it says it everywhere.

your dealership should have a record, give them your vin number.

i think car fax might have that.

but your best bet would be if you could find your sticker, and receipt for what the dealership charged you.

side air bags and side curtain air bags are different. all tcs have side air bags in the seat, not all have side curtain airbags.

^ Verified. Have SRS airbag stickers all over the dam car. Pondering whats involved in removing them from the front pillars, wannna run wiring through there, besides, I hate airbags.

i wouldnt tamper with anything close to/ related to the airbags, i see no reason why u should hate airbags? they can saev ur life, besides messing with stuff related to airbags might cause them to deploy at random, or prevent the front one to work properly, just route anywires u have towards the bottom!

Have seen first hand what airbags do on low speed impacts. Im not pleased at all. Not dangerous without their propelant, or the fuse to power them. I was going to mount stuff just above the rearview mirror, and route the wiring through the pillar. However our goodly lawmakers have changed laws recently which eliminates the need for this anyway.

uhm...air bags don't go off at low speed collisionsi have been in two low speed collisions involving the front of my vehicle at low speed collsions causing a few grand in repair to the front of the vehicle, both times in a vehicle with an airbag, but they did not deploy.

so chill out with your "airbags are dangerous crap." because that isn't what this thread is about. it is about knowing whether or not he has any.

Apparently I wasn't clear enough for you. I said I don't care for them.
"Not dangerous without their propelant, or the fuse to power them. "
Translates to they don't function without their propellant, or fuse. If anyone needs to chill, its you, so you can just get happy in the same pants you got mad in.

As for low speed collisions, well I'm happy your experiances have been such. However, having seen quite a few motor vehicle collisions which were low speed, I've seen them go off when not needed. In these cases, they did more harm than good, therefore I do not care for them.

wow I don't think I have ever heard anyone say they don't like airbags....Last time I checked they save people's lives everyday.

Also there are other ways to run wire without removing the airbag. I mounted my alarm antenna right below the mirror mount and was able to run the wire just fine.

Agreed. They do save lives. Would like to see the system improved more though. Granted over the last few years there has been some.
