Default single-din touchscreen question

Is there a single-din pop-out or motorized touch screen that will extend for proper use, yet retract enough to still have the radio door close properly?

Thanks for any suggestions...

been discussed a couple of time for a couple of units before. Just check the search. But I know that the avic-d3 will NOT unless you redrill the holes to move it back. As for the eclipse units I would say yes but I am not sure...someone who knows more then me on them will hopfully chime in

I can remember someone on these boards just took their door out because it wouldnt fit right. Depends on what model im sure, you might be able to drill some holes farther back like the d3 has to,,,

single din wont work with the door, its not that the door wont close its that the screen wont be able to flip up with the door as the door sticks out an inch when open and will hit it as well as not being able to see the screen. im sure you might be able to get something to work but it really just does not seem to be worth it with such nice double din units that are available.

yeah, you are probably right. I wanted to keep my current single din head unit, which is why i was asking about the single din flip-out... but keeping the door working as well is probably asking too much.

Maybe i will have to go for a double din unit afterall... hmmm

i would i just got an Avic d3 it has dvd and gps and super easy bypass and you can get a smoking deal on through crutchfield. you can get 15% off if you order 2 pioneer accessories with it( i got the bluetooth adapter and the sirius tuner) and it come with a free $250 rear view camera. i paid 1067 out the door with free shipping. and im going to sell the camera which can get around $200 on ebay. so i got a $999.99 D3, 189.99 Bluetooth adapter, and a $99.99 sirius tuner for around $867. and its way nicer than any of the flip outs in its price range.

Layddly
how did you get the 10% off? Let me know if it is a promotional code or something. I would love to buy this unit and if I can get 10% why not.
