Default So, I up and decided to make a false floor.

I was at Home Depot yesterday picking up some stuff for my mom when I decided on the fly that I want to make a false floor to show off my eD equipment. I finished working earlier tonight. There's still a couple things I want to do but here are some pics I snapped...

Tomorrow I'll be putting Plexiglas over the amp and I'm thinking I'll add LEDs too...

My sister was actually saying she thinks it will look weird to have plexi over the amp, but not over the sub.. what do you all think? It would kinda defeat the whole reason I decided to do this in the first place, to have the option of having my sub uncovered...

any comments at all are welcome and appreciated.

I would do plexi over the sub and see how it sounds, if it sounds bad take it off. I think would look weird with just the plexi over the amp. Man that scion sticker looks bad when it gets dirty. lol

yeah my car is covered in pollen and sawdust :-(

oh also somthing I forgot to ask in the OP, do you all think it would have looked better if I had cut the hole for the amp bigger so you could see the sides of it rather than just the top? I had trouble deciding on that one and eventually settled on the smaller hole cuz its easier to make a hole bigger than make one smaller haha.

^^Yea my car is dirty as hell too! I think it looks good the way it is, so you can't see the wires.

I cut my hole to be bigger so i could see the sides and some wiring. Imo the plexi would probably affect the sound quality if not it would rattle alot.

Well I just learned to put plexi in and light it up you need to take a torch and heat it back and forth to get the flaws out of surface each side and then it shines clean and clear, mine sucks lit up but is clear as day unlit......also no plexi over sub, heck no plexi over amp........also for a one day install you rock man.......that is very nice......good job be proud of that work......mine took 3 days to build the floor......

thanks man. I already added plexi to the amp though. I like it. I kinda regret not cutting the whole bigger and showing the wires, but I'm not gonna go back and redo it, too much work haha.

I also ordered some LEDs from Oznium to get this isht glowing, but what are you talking about with the torch and all? I didnt heat up anything and it looks perfectly clear... although I havent tried lighting it yet...

when you light it up it wil have every swirl mark and a fog on the surface that will light up.......I watched sadly enough...pimp my ride and they used a torch to heat it up just a bit and it cleared up the plexi to clear as a bell..........just do not attache the plexi like I did that it takes hours to get back off,..just in case yours is not clear......

Also polishing with plastic polish may clear it up........secrets that they do not each the average person.....mine is clear as can be unlit..........like a window.....when lit it is like the plexi is fogged and showed every scratch......embarrasing........especially after all the work I did to get it all to fit in..........over 120 hours of work......

Just make sure to attach the plexi correctly to the wood, or it will rattle haha

Since i router'd a lip into my floor so i can have the plexi resting on i just used clear caulking to secure it to the wood. Clean and tasty.

I got my leater vinyl which looks and feels like leather which is funny, from China town in New YOrk city. I think i payed like 10 bucks for 2 and half yards. WOOT Go china town !
