Default So yes........I'm naked.......

So I'm almost done reupholstering the tc with black perforated leather. I took lots of pics and somehow only three were downloaded into my computer (wanted to do a dyi). These are not the clazzio ones. I had to remove the existing skins on the seats and then re do them.

First myth.......if you disconnect the wires (airbag) from the seats the airbag light will come on. Fact....I tested this before anything. Disconected the battery unpluged everything and then plugged everything back in. As long as you don't connect the battery until you're done with the seats (or whatever you're doing that involves removing and disconecting the wires from the seats) The airbag light will not come on.

Maybe for 08 they changed...but when i searched I saw that the covers were glued on. Mine were simply attached with "o" rings that I reused.

I have to say the car looks amazing..I will post pics of the interior by tomorrow. But here are some stripped seats from my re do....

Default almost done>>pics!

so all I have left is to use the heat gun to smooth out the leather and get rid or wrinkles and the door panels inserts.....I have used a few kits from different companies. Most are the same, Katzkin is a little thicker, Classic soft trim, too much vinyl(only inserts in front are real leather), and PECCA which I used this time, which allows you to heat up the leather to make it a snug fit....I actually get these kits sporadically from a friend.. I happen to get this one for free because I did His Honda oddysey.....

Default sample

I can usually get them for about $350, sometimes less, depends on the type of car and sometimes customers specila order and believe it or not never come back to get them or dont like the combination THEY chose here is one I installed on my 08 civic...This one is a katzkin.

Any chance you can snag some covers for a second gen (2010+) mazdaspeed3?
I hate the red in my seats and want to bring some more class to my new car.

The benefit of clazzios is the fact that they go over the existing covers. They are in fact seat covers. They are very nice quality. I just preffer doing the work (kinda like a hobby for me....relieves stress.) And IMO nothing like the real feel of factory installed.....

I hear you on that 08Tcny they look ok and all but if I'm gonna do my seats I'm going all out and get them done not just put something over them, thats my take on it.
