Speaker Question/Advice
Okay before i ask lets not turn this into a debate about the stock bazooka sub being crap.....i know its not sidewalk rattling but it is fine for me.....
Here's the deal:
I have the stock HU and The Bazooka Stock Sub
i would like to replace the stock speakers front and back and tweeters if that is a big improvement as well.
I know the sizes are 6.5 and 5.5 and i heard that 6.5 will fit for both but i need to know if i replace them will i need to add more power ie. amp or will the stock HU with the extra watts for the sub be enough......I just want to switch out to speakers to get more clarity and extra kick!!!
Anyway have any idea what would be a good compliment to the Bazooka???
PS. dont flame i didnt ask for that..if you have good advice then please help...i am not an audio person
Thanks

Honestly, if you change out the fronts, change the mid AND the tweet...it'll sound a lot better.
As for non-powered components...an amp will always make them sound much better.
I installed my 6500s on the stock system, then added my Eclipse, then finally amped them...each step made the speakers noticably better sounding.

Like Mandos said.. adding a amp will always help the sound alot from aftermarket speakers. If you are not wanting to add a amp, look for components that have a lower RMS power rating. Also look at the efeciency rating. If the eff. rating is high that means it takes less power to make them work. The lower the number the more power they take and the worse they will sound off a headunit.
Just some other things to think about.

My suggestion would be: 1) no offense intended, get a real subwoofer/amp (10/12" in a sealed box w/ a 200W amp) 2) get some nice front components (tweet and woof) and get a modest amp to power them. 3)then either leave the rears alone, or take the stock front drivers and mount them in the rear and run them off HU power for rear fill (may not be able to do this). Pretty sure the rears are full range, but their crappy anyay so ur not gonna miss much in terms of your highs, plus the new amped fr components should give u all the highs u need.
