Default Speaker removal on an 07...

So, I did a bit of searching on the topic and it seems the only way I could find to do such a thing (with the stupid rivets they use) is to drill out the rivet and pull it out. I'm not trying to put in new speakers, just trying to access the freaking door grommet to run some wires and I was wondering if I can reattach the speaker when I'm done with it using screws in the same holes I just banged the rivets out of?

Thanks alot, kinda ridiculous how they did this

Yes, it was rediculous that they were kept in with rivets. If you don't damage the bracket on the speaker when you drill, im positive you can bolt the speaker back on with a nut and screw.

Has anyone else used a better way to get the rivets out, other than drilling them out?

drilling them is pretty much the best way to go about it... if you were to try prying it out... you can flare the sheet metal and make it very difficult to remount the factories or new aftermarkets... drilling just seems the way to go..

you also might want to be careful,
noted only on 07 models so far, if you take the door interior competely off and unplug the window and lock controls, you will have problems with rolling up and down your windows without a code

unsure of code

check dealer

On my 07' I've never had a problem with my windows not working after I took off the doors. It may just be that I have gotten lucky, but I've never had a problem other than just resetting the buttons.
