I want to replace the stock speakers in my tC but I dont know what the sizes are. Also, if anyone could recommend some knockin component systems to complement my kicker CVR12. thanks.

6.5" fits nicely....

good components are judged by each persons own preference. Some good brands to look into are:

CDT Audio, JL Audio, EDi, RE, Focal, Boston, MB Quart, and plenty others...just listen around and decide for yourself what you like....

 

Did you replace the stocks w/ screws or more rivets?

 

I replaced the plactic OEM mounting bracket with a 3/4" HDF spacer...I bolted the spacer to the door, then screwed the 6.5" mids into the spacer....

 

My personal recomendation is JL Audio 6.5 components up front and 6.5 coaxials in the rear.

 

I had teh infinity kappa perfect 6.1's in the lex, and they sounded fn great. Best system I've ever had. Infinity 6x9's in the rear, 6 channel amp (infinity), and one infinity 12" KP sub. very clean and crisp

 

i realize this thread is mad old but i'm wondering if a 6 3/4" speaker will fit up front. I'm getting some pioneer stuff at crazy low cost with my employee accomodation and would rather have larger woofers up front. I'm lookin at the PRS series component set. They only come in 6.75 and 5.25. Any idea if the larger speakers will fit?

i checked the elemental website and it says the overall dimension is 7". did you have to any modifications? i too my door panel off and the stocker is exactly 6.5. I wasn't able to take it out tho cuz of the rivets. will have to do that after i move

thanks...i'm just gonna get the larger speakers and figure the rest out later. It'll take like 6 weeks for me to get my stuff anyway.
