Speakers Prob?
Right now I am running a simple alpine hu with a jl audio 12W3V2... however whenever i want a little more bass and crank the volume up my stock speakers become all distorted... I was interested in some eD 6500 component speakers however my main goal is not waste money on yet another amp... I just more my stockies not to be all distorted so wondering what set up i can go with. If I just upgrade to aftermarket speakers that have more wattage than the stockies would that solve the distortion prob?
Updrading the front speakers will help out but adding another amp to them will help A LOT!!!! You could even get one of JL's 4 or 5 channel amps for the sub and components then sell the amp you have now...
thats a really good idea... i have a e1400d which throws out 500watt but what amp (doesnt have to be jl but its gotta be good) can i use that is 3 channel's? 2 for the fronts and one for the sub. However will my sub have less power since the amp is being drawed by 3 sources?
Generally, going with a 4 channel or 5 channel amp is going to reduce the amount of power the sub is getting - but not because there are more places for the power to go - just that there are not that many high power amps that'll give enough to fully support a power hungry sub....
Your best bet would just be getting another amp for aftermarket components.... having an additional amp is in NO WAY a waste of money!!!!!
