Default Speedsense wire

I was wondering if any of you lovely chaps knew where I could find the speedsense wire pre-ecu... Either in the engine bay or on the plug into the ecu?

Your help is much appreciated.

It's for a DEFI VSD-X. I'm running standalone so I need to find the wire at the sensor or coming into the cabin.

Because I'm going standalone, I'm not using factory gauges, I'm using the VSD-X as my tach and spedometer.

i would imagine you want the wire between the ecu and the gauges then..?

as i'm not too knowledgeable.. however i would think the ecu would need to process the signal coming from the sensors first before it sends the speed pulse out to the gauges which then processes that into the correct reading?

wiring manuals are here:

Trung, you are correct, you would want the wire between the ECU and gauges for the HUD.

The DEFI VSD-X is a sweet unit from what I have seen, I am still "toying" with the idea to make my own HUD, but so far it has not come into fruition.....

I believe you can tap before the ECU, because the pulse would still be the same as though it were from the ECU, it might take a resistor, but I'm going to try to run it off the driverside spedsensor.

Thanks a lot for that link, with those diagrams I should have what I need.

The VSD-X is a nice unit, I think there's a lot that could be improved upon though. It's just what's on the market, and me not wanting to spend $1500 on a AIMPro Dash unit.

The ECU I'm currently using doesn't process speed, therefore I have to work with the signal from one of the two sensors.
