there have been many hints to this question, but i havnt found a direct answer. is there any a pillar pod that is safe to use with the srs curtain airbags? maybe a pod that goes only half way up?>

 

It can be done.

The air bag is not in the pillar... Its is above the driver/passenger window... Hence "curtain air bag".

There is however a line (not sure if it is electrical or air) in the a-pillar which connects to the curtain air bag. Just be sure that you do not puncture or trigger that line when installing the a pillar. Be very careful.
