Default Stereo Questions

Ok, so I am a music junkie and am obsessed with my Sirius Radio that i had in my Civic......so now heres my options, help me out!

1) Keep the factory radio, put bass-blockers on the factory speakers, install Sirius S50 car cradle and a sub combination of some sort

2) Replace the factory head unit with a Kenwood or Pioneer unit with Satelite controls and a hard mounted Sirius Tuner and Antenna. The HU would have a crossover for the speakers so no bass-blockers would be needed. I would not be able to do the sub at the same time for $$ reasons, but I would be buying a PAC-Audio adapter for the steering wheel controls.

Would the factory speakers be able to handle the wattage of an aftermarket HU?
Is it even possible to attach a sub to the factory HU? Am I T-Tapping speaker lines?
If I do Hardwire a Sirius Tuner and Antenna, Where should I put it??

personally, I'd splurge for a good HU that you can add to later on... if money doesn't allow, do it one step at a time but do it right!!

You CAN add a sub to the factory HU, but an aftermarket HU will give you better sound and more control over all your speakers.... stock speakers will be good with an aftermarket HU as long as you don't crank them to distortion point... you'll probably end up getting components and the whole nine yards before it's all over.... alot of people start out with "I just want to add a sub and amp", then before they know it, they've got 3 screens, 2 amps, 3 subs, and 2 component systems...hahaha

yeah...

going with sci....

get a nice deck and sat radio box... youll have good control over your sat radio, and your sound quality will go up cause your working with a direct plug in... instead of the fm tranmitter...

then when you decide to go with the sub... you will be able to independently control the subwoofer in case the wife/gf/parents/ dog whatever doesnt like your bass so much...
