Default Still hatin' the seats

Awhile back I'd posted about my seats. Well, I still hate 'em. I'm getting out of my car feeling stiff and twisted. I really, really want to get past this, because I want to keep the car, but I'm not finding any reasonable options for replacement seats. The racing seats that are available for our cars aren't really geared towards comfort. When I search for other seats, I get a complete listing of Evenflo and Grayco seats (I don't have any children, so I'm not even mildly interested.)

Does anyone have any advice? I spend alot of time in my car and this is my major beef. I've given up on the paint issue

Also... Does anyone have any problems with not being able to properly reach all gears after adjusting the seat back to allow for leg length? Maybe I'm just a troll (the mountain, or Billygoat's gruff type not the obnoxious internet pests).

im sure it can be changed, but you know what they say, anything is possible with enough money.

not to endorse any shop like west coast customs, but they have done that before, rebuilding the stock seats.

Nah, they put dimples in your backside. I'm not into the self-flagellation look

Well for comfort I noticed a HUGE difference when changing out my stock cloth for the katzkin leather... You can get a vinyl backed leather kit for like 600. If you have issues hitting the gears, get a short shifter that should help you out there.

I do have to say these seats suck. It is impossible to find a good position, and once you find it and then move it... ir will never be the same again . But the leather seats definitely made a huge difference for me.

I was wondering about the leather seats. I'll give it a shot. You're right about the positioning, though. Every time I shift gears, I lose my comfort zone and have to re-adjust. Thanks for the idea!

How will a short shifter allow for an easier reach?

LOL. Everyone says "going to a short shifter you won't hit you're elbow on the center console!"... I installed a TWM and I hit my elbow every day on the console now. I also hate the stock seats, but either they've "worn in", or I've gotten used to them, and they don't hurt so much any more. I bought a set of Celica seats that I thought were real comfortable, but haven't made the brackets yet. I tried one day, but the Celica seats are about 2" lower than ours, so I would have looked like I was 4' tall driving.

well I was just assuming shorter throws would decrease the distance he would have to extend his arm if his that far back... I don't really know for a FACT it will work... just a suggestion.

EDIT - As a matter of fact, the Perrin Shifter is actually bent so you could adjust it so it is bent towards you placing the shift **** a good 0.5"-1" closer to you... just a thought!
