Default stock deck wont play mp3s

i have been playing mp3s on the stock scion deck for months now and just today i put in an mp3 that had been played before and it just flashes reading disk then says no music. i figured maybe it was scratched or whatever so i burnt a brand new mp3 cd and put it in. no luck. i drove around tried it again and it worked but when i went to like track 5 it flashed track 5 then said no disk. i can put in a regular burnt cd and it plays fine but when i throw in an mp3 it wont play... any suggestions? thanks

get a cd cleaning disc, and put it in.

the laser lense can get dirty from smoke particles and dust.

Is your headunit sitting in the sun for some time? I've noticed mine acts funny if I forget to close the lid and it is a bright, sunny day. I think it gets too hot and acts funky. I just end up running the vents for a minute or so and it cools it down quickly. The A/C helps in this regards but is not necessary. I say this because I see you are in AZ.

I dont know the year of your tc but there was also a problem with some of the '05 - '06 radios and them acting up. If you are still within warranty, it would never hurt to run it past them.
