Default Stock Head unit with ipod upgrade, and crystalline driver

Hi, i am new to Scion life and i have performed a search and have not been able to find anything on this. Well here is my story. I had the following installed in a c230 coupe and it sounded amazing using the factory deck:

1. Crystalline driver
2. Focal Compnent speakers, (2 tweets, and two mids)
3. Rockford fosgate amp 4 channel
4. JL w6 sub 10'
5. JL 2 channel amp.

I just got this system installed in my tC, and it sounds like sheit,,, and the guys at the install shop did not install, my crystalline driver, they told me that this driver mixed with the stock pioneer deck on the tC would distort the sound even more. Personally i dont believe this i just think they forgot to install it and were using that as an excuse. Anyways i would just like to know if anyone out there is using a crysaline driver, and if maybe by not having it installed, is why my sound system sounds crappy. It kinda sounds like the bass fluctuates every once in a while too. The other thing i am thinking is maybe the sound is not as good because they used higher guage wiring?. Any feed back on this would be great.

Thanks,
~T

Im not quite sure how it works, but i've been told that when you use stock decks, this device, cleans and sharpens up the sound from stock decks, not sure how, and it also amplifies the voltage output of the deck, dont really know what that does either.

Your problem is the ___-tastic EQ feature of the Scion radio. It's set up to make the $1 speakers they put into the car sound decent. If you are going to use the OEM deck, you need to take care of the DSP. I used the JL Audio CleanSweep (CL441dsp) and all is well.

I've seen the JL clean sweep and dam is expensive, its around $300, its probably better to buy an aftermarket deck!! Does it make a huge difference?

Doesnt a crystaline driver do the same thing as the JL Audio Cleansweep?

are you talking about a high low converter? cause that gets rid of the crappy noise i think your talking about...

if not id say just upgrade the deck.. and try to sell the upgraded deck...

ya i think thats wut it is, it has connections for 2 input RCA's and two out put RCA's. and somewires on the side to power it. I know its used to clean the signal from the deck. But these guys at the audio install place said that with the tC stock head unit there is no need to use this. So i am confused why would it clean up the signal on Stock mercedes deck and not on a tC??? O and at lunch just now i went and saw my friends car from work, all he has in his honda CRV is a $150 bazooka tube 10" and replaced his factory components with $80 speakers, no amp... and it sounds much better compared to mine. My system should sound a 100 times better! Is there maybe a particular way the wires from the deck should be wired to get the best sound out of my stock unit? from my understanding, and i do not know much about car audio, is that, each speaker, has a positive and negative wire, so from the factory deck to hook up 6 speakers, you shouldhave a total of 12 wires, now an addapter or filter is used to convert these wires to RCA's so then you should end up with 6 RCA's. Now i have a feeling they only used 4 RCA's for the speakers, 1 for the tweets, and 1 for the mids going into one amp (focals in the front and stock in the rear) and they turned down the gain for the stock rear speakers, and they used the other two RCA's to power the sub. I could be wrong with my setup. But what is the best way to hook everything up to keep the best sound quality,,,, Also, before my sub used to have a hard kick sound or punch it, now it just sounds like a sloppy rummble,,, i even tried adjusting the frequency on the amp, just incase they had it set too low, but that didnt make any difference... Please help!!! there is nothing worse than driving to music and hearing crappy sound coming out of your speakers, that once used to play amazing!!!

anyone have any suggestions as to how to get the best quality sound while using the factory deck? maybe a certain way of routing the wires from the deck?
