You have to remove the entire covering in front of the head unit.

This is how I do it: First, you need to shift your car into neutral and apply the handbrake.

Then remove the piece that goes over the gear shift **** and contains the cigarette lighter, just pull on the sides until it comes loose, then lift over the shift ****, you can disconnect the cigarette lighter from the wire it connects to, but I just let it hang off to the side.

Then you need to close the front cover on the radio and pull the entire silver piece off, again, just pull at the sides, it will come but you have to use a little pressure. After that is off, disconnect the wiring clip on the back of that and remove it.

The stock radio is held in by two phillips head screws and two 10mm (I think that is the size) nuts, these hold the metal mounting brackets on the sides of the head unit.

Now you should be able to disconnect the head unit and put in your new one, make sure you have a wiring harness to hook up to the old wires, it will make it a lot easier.

Good luck.

*EDIT*

Oops, I just noticed the one Squall already answered, didnt even notice jess had made two threads. Oh, well... he has his answer one way or another.
