stock tc stereo on buick century
I have installed an after market stereo on my 2007 tc and I'd like to install the stock stereo in my wife's Buick Century. The problem is the harness. Would I need the generic Toyota wiring harness that can be found on ebay for 98c + shipping? Has anyone tried installing the stock stereo on another car? Thanks
You buy the harness that plugs into the stock stereo. It's gonna be a toyota oem harness, you may be able to find one on ebay somewhere. It's not gonna be just a regular wiring harness you would use for an aftermarket radio. Then you're gonna wire that oem harness to a regular harness adapter for the buick.
depending on what year matrix, (03-04) uses the GM delco Headunit, (05-200
uses the base Toyota unit. If it's the 05-2008 JBL unit (premium unit), then thats another story and too often time results in rewiring the speakers to bypass the jbl amp.
If its the 03-04, you would need the Toyota harness for the stock radio and wire that to a GM harness to plug into the stock harness off the Matrix.
05-08 will be just plug and play.

ok u need two harness GENERAL MOTORS 1994-UP - INTO CAR/32 PIN metra 70-2001 that plugs into the harness that in the buick then u will wire that to TOYOTA 1987-UP - INTO OEM RADIO metra 71-1761 and that will plug in to the radio from your scion. So you have to harness wired together now dependeing on the year of the buick that part number should be right
