Default Which sub can i buy that wont shatter my windows?

I want to buy a Rockford Fosgate Power T1 10 inch sub for my tC... does n e one know if that is too powerful for the windows? is there a chance that it will shatter my windows if it goes up too high?

don't quote me on this but for a sub to break glass the BASS must hit 166 decibles. witch is an ubscene amount. Achievable by crazy competiotioners with 5 15's and 10 extra batteries. Personally I have a memphis sh 15' compeition series with a memphis 1000d amp. These are top notch and i can watch my windows flex as well as fenders roof ect and it takes a lot more than what i have to break glass my freind. Go talk to a sound shop and tey will help you out.

It would take ALOT for a sub to shatter a window. I listened to a friends car that had two 12" L5 pushing 2400w rms. That would make the windshield move in and out but nothing shattered. I think you will be more than fine with anything you may buy.

You'd have to have about 10-12 of those before you started even worrying about shattering windows.....

almost any car can handle 155dB without having any issues with windows shattering.... yes, it's possible, but it would almost have to be intentional in order to do it...

You'd need something obscene to shatter a tC's windows

Probably something like 32 subs would shatter tC windows! But Jesus, nobody would be dumb enough to do that. LOL :D

Don't worry about it, your totally safe as I think your heart would stop beating before the windows would shatter.

I bet Mandos is just that "stupid", ha.
How, 'bout it Mandos, think you can somehow get 32 subs in a tC.
Maybe remove the back seats and do the same thing with the 32 EU's but from ceiling to floor in a "U" shape?

HAHA

lol that makes me think i wonder if he has updated that post... lol...

ya i agree is it at 2 ohms or 4 ohms... if you have 4 10' in parallel wouldnt it be at like .75 ohms? allthough most amps can't handle that... a buddy of mine got an old van and ran 8 old fostgate he's in a huge ported box with 1 memphs 1500x1 d at .75 ohms stable.. that thing was mad i think 159 decibles or something like that... all i know is it would make your heart get a beating lol... anyways time to check up on mandos's car.... btw don't quote me on that but i know it was under 1 ohm stable and i can't remember how...

2400w RMS (and assumed 4800W max)? That's silly, 1200 rms is more likely, and 2400 the max. I mean, 200 amps continuous? Talk about necessary amp upgrade. Pics!

go to subway... the only way to crack the windows... is if you freeze it... and launch it from a hair spray powered cannon. so as long as it's fresh. like it is when you get it... there will be no problem. good luck

Yeah, def 2400rms. He had two of the 1200rms Kicker Amps. One amp for each sub. The only sad part about his $10,000 system is that he put it in a Kia Spectre. Sad

Ya know what's more sad than that, Bird? He was probably only using about 1000-1500 watts of the "2400RMS" because there's no stock electrical system that could handle a FULL 2400 watt load....

MTX Jackhammer and it's a completely worthless sub. In that episode it only hit like a 135 or something.

What are you talking about, maybe if it's a honda civic. But if you've got something with a decent alternator you're gonna be fine. Alot of stock electrical systems will do fine with 2k+ as long as you set up the system correctly. It also helps to upgrade the battery.

Also, everyone can forget about blowing out any windows. Worse thing that's going to happen is that you get a rock chip in your windshield and then your subs help it along.
