Sub Wiring
Hey i couldent find anything under the search topic about this i was just wondering if i can wire a 500w Rockford amp to a 1600watt lanzer amp for a total of 2100watts then put that into two subwoofers..is it possible to wire two amps together and have more power even if their of different brand names. thankyou in advance.
That depends on what you mean by "wire to", how you're proposing to connect them together.
Connecting both to the same power distribution block is fine.
Attempting to bridge (or more correctly, "strap") them together to produce a single output won't work. To do that, get two identical amps of the same brand and model which are designed to be implemented that way. I think this is the answer to what you were specifically asking, so "no".
If you're just talking about using one amp for 1 sub, and the other amp for another sub, that can be made to work, but it'll take some effort. Both subs need to be the same, and the amp gains will need to be set so that each sub is getting the same amount of power from whichever amp is feeding it.
