On some of the louder bassier parts of my music it sounds like something is rattling somewhat in the back which makes me wonder...
Is that my subwoofer going too high for itself?
Is that something rattling possibly on my hatch?
I don't know much about what subwoofers sound like when they start to distort or blow. I would just assume at lower levels of volume it would still sound all distorted right?
So it must be the hatch?
I am running a JL W6 10" on a 500 watt rms Kenwood Amp

the tc is pretty good with rattling with a sub. i have a ten inch sub in a ported box getting 780 watts rms. only on certain notes of certain songs do i really get any rattles and i haven't added any dynamat yet.
well when i'm inside i hear almost none, but when i'm outside of it and it's going i have some slight rattles. nothing in the interior really rattles to bad for me at least and my system in pretty loud.

Its weird...its not the tones that go BOOOOM!!! as you say...
its the tones that you FEEL that make the vibrating sound from whatever it is...
I want to find out what it is growl...
Maybe if I go to a meet or something someone could help me find the problem

You know what weird spot is BUZZZZZZZING on my car right now? (And I haven't even got my sub wired yet!) The driver side window buttons! I have no idea how to make the plastic panel they're on stop buzzing. Talk about irritating.
I put a few pieces of eDead V1se in my doors, but not nearly enough to do anything. I really don't want to take my doors off again, but if this buzz persists, i'm going to have to on a rainy day. It seriously drives me insane.
idk but when i put my sub in the rear passenger side rattled like no other on high bass. but yeah inside there's a piece that rattles. it's either that or it's your license plate. get some of that mat stuff. works wonders. and you might even get better sound out of it.
Mine has rattles all over the place, even with just a single sealed 10" and only 140 watts. All the interior plastic panels vibrate to the point of producing audible noise when I crank it up. Now I can begin the long process of tracking each one down and stopping it, using either damping material or bracing.

Already hushed my license plate with some foam around the factory I work at.
I think its part of the plastic on the hatch...it rattled off I think and I pushed it back in but still rattles

if parts of your hatch are rattling OFF, I think you have bigger problems to worry about than slight rattle.
not to mention, you said it only happens when the MIRRORS (meaning side mirrors on the front of the car) are vibrating enough to stop you from SEEING THROUGH THEM
here's a hint, TURN THE FRIGGIN STEREO DOWN.
I happen to enjoy my sense of hearing, but do as you like, rattle your car to pieces and fracture your malleus and stapes bones in your ears.
