Default subwoofer question

okay so i just recently sold my audiobahn subs...finally. anyway i purchased a jl e1200 amplifer, to power the new 10" P1 sub. The rem, ground, battery, rca's are hook up properly, and the green light showing that the amp is powered is lit up. However there is no sound whatsoever coming out the sub. When i switch the bass boost, and LHP/HP options from left to right, i hear a thump from the sub, so i know the sub is working. However there is still no sound coming from the sub? Any car audio experts that can help my troublesome?

what HU are you using? and is the sub enabled on it? on my D3 i can enable and disable my sub, and the amp still receives power, it just doesn't get audio down the RCA's to play.

you might what to make sure that the amp is strong enough to push that speakers. And you might want to up grade the espeaaker wire. I have used a 16 gauge wire and a 8 gauge wire before. It depends on the termale siaze.
