Default Subwoofer rattle...

I just installed two 10 inch JL Audio W3's in my TC. They sound awesome but everything in the rear end of the car rattles and it is obnoxious. Does anyone have any good ideas to get rid of it?

Dynamat is mainly to deal with road noise getting into the vehicle. I've used it before and it does an okay job, but for the price of the stuff I wouldnt bother with it. Usually when you put a lot of bass into a vehicle that is a hatch-back design. I would concentrate on building up the size/height of the seal around the back hatch. That is where most of the vibration causes rattles. I used thicker seals on my 06 tC after installing Pioneer 12's and 1800 Watts going through them. It worked pretty well.
hope that helps. Also, you'll have less vibration rattle if you have the windows open as some of the sound waves with the lower hertz range like bass does are refracted back into the vehicle when they encounter solid objects. So it plays off of itself (no pun intended) in making the rattling worse by keeping it in the car.
Dynamat may help some, but because it's pricey I'd work on beefing up the seals first. Hope that helps.

dynamat or any sound deadener will reduce rattles. thats what it is designed to do. it will also soften road noise a small amount depending on where you apply it.

the rear latch on the hatch does it too. and also the ribs in the rear pillars. (C-Pillars). I'd dynomat my new 08 if the damn stuff wasnt so expensive. its not perfect but it does make a difference. I want to deaden cabin noise mainly from my full race exhaust... very loud. lol
