subwoofer swap in bazooka box! eD please help!
greetings everyone im interested if anyone has done this?
are their any subs that anyone used utilizing the port?
my biggest question is - does the bazooka's amplifier connections use a wire harness, or does it have separate power, line in, remote turn on, power out connections? thanks in advance.

I don't have the bazooka, so i can't be 100%, but from what i've read, it does have a harness. as far as the sub port goes.............ports are not generic!!!!!!!!!!!! one size does not fit all!!!!!!!!!! if you want to put a different sub in the box, that's fine, but do the math to find the port tuning frequencies! www.caraudioforum.com has the correct equasions to use. please use them otherwise you stand a chance of having the sub sound good, but not as good as it could with proper tuning!
sealed would be better for better subs?
i always had the thought process of low power subs getting ports to enhance sound...
and i found the wiring diagram in the install instructions on trd sparks. its a 14 pin with only 7 active ones, 4 being the +and- of the front two channels, then the remote activator, power, and ground.
the reason why im asking is im trying to see if i could use the existing wiring to wire a new amp, minus power and ground, i think it could work?
also, a sealed box would be easier to calculate, its just strictly airspace calculations, no length of port calcualtions and crap.
so, mandos, any suggestions on a 10" sub to work good in the bazooka box, given if i seal it, or even if i dont? thanks

I'd need to know the tuning/volume of the box to say whether or not an 11Kv.2/Ov.2 would work in there. I'd guess though that sealing it would probably be the ideal route as it just doesn't look THAT big
Sealing it might be easiest. But you'd have to find a way to seal it to make it just as hard as the rest of the box. Don't stuff rags or something in there, it won't seal it correctly. You can use the harness, minus the power and ground, as long as you have an amp that has speaker level inputs. It should be very easy to wire it from the mating of the two harnesses.
