Question Summer is here, A/C not blowing "chilled" air.

hey guys, I have been reading a few threads and need some info on freons. My car does not have any leaks, I checked and see no oil marks or any type of marks. My car blows cool air, but not cold air. I want to know if its safe to just add more freon? I dont want to put too much PSI and damage something. I just want it to be ICE cold. please not stupid remarks or comments just need some info. Any brands? links.

take it to a shop to check and refill if necessary, I don't recommend doing it yourself unless you know how to properly recharge / refill. What year is your TC? Cuz my 05 still blows ice cold at 119K miles, so cold the outside moisture condenses on the windshield.

I really do not want to take it to a shop because I know they will charge me an arm and a leg. I have seen that some freon containers have a gauges, I am not sure if they tell an accurate reading on how much you need. My tC is an 2007, has 93k miles. Any tips?

They do have gauges and such, but most shops will recharge for < $110. If that's an arm and a leg, I don't know if you're getting quotes from reliable shops.

A recharge / refill kit would probably cost you $70-80 to get the refrigerant as well; the only pro is you have enough refrigerant to last at least 80k-100k x 3.

Just FYI, any time you switch your air vent mode to lower+windshield or just press the windshield button, it uses your A/C automatically.
