Default Sunroof auto close?

Looking for a way to wire up the sunroof switch to close with one touch, something like it does when you open it. I dont know why they didnt do it to begin with....I guess to give us something to do lol

I know an auto-open feature has been talked about many times on the board but no one has ever seen to have any viable solutions..

it seems like you could learn a lot from how the auto open/close windows work

there is an auto open. if you hold it... it opens.. but there's a reason why it opens so far...

and auto close? umm.. safety concerns is why it wasn't put in place.

I want someone to figure out how to wire it up like my vw, so when I lock my car, I can make the sunroof auto close and windows auto up... That unit would sell like hotcakes!

I drove my girlfriend's mom's VW today. The feature they have is really cool--dial-in the amount you want your sunroof open, and it does the rest of the work.

The reason it doesn't close, or open all the way immediately is like SquallLHeart says. It's made that way so no one accidentally crushes their friend's hand in the sunroof, then sues Toyota

that's stupid cause it also has a feature that returns it automatically to full open if something gets in its way while closing even if you're holding the button in the close position, same with the windows. ...both safety features on the sunroof is over kill imo.

Funny commercial, fake, but funny.... the alientech module for the vws has a resistor you have to clip yourself to disingage the safety sensor and auto-UP the windows and close the Sunroof (so you are liable if something gets caught/strangled in the window/roof) as a result...

I know they didn't do it stock for safety reasons, but someone A/M has got to figure out a way to make it work... and do the same safety thing, so us idiots can have cool things for our cars.
