swapping my seats - i need HELP FAST! - electrical problem
Hey guys.. im trying to swap my seats to celica seats and the passenger seat had two connector. ( btw i got 05 tc) and the bigger one did matched up nicely but the smallert one not. so i had to cut / solder the wires... celica had blue and yellow wires the tc had black and red
whatever i do the car is keep throwing the airbag light
i connected the black to blue and red to yellow then vica versa the light is still on my cluster.
When i tried it the seat wasnt bolted down ( i dont know if this matters )
and i didnt reset the battery.. once again i dont know if it would change anything.
Pls help because i dont know what to do.

i tried to reset the ecu .. changed the cables but nothing helped. i forget to say that the tc driver seat had the seat position sensor what i had to leave unplugged because the celica does not have any connection like that. so far i dont even know if any of the airbags would deploy during an accident.
and who know why i have the airbag light on.. its because the driver or the passenger side?

The airbags in cars are all going to work indipendantly of each other even if one or more are disabled. But did you take the airbag out of the celica seat and put the tC airbag in,if not it will think there is a problem as the celica airbag is not programmed to work in your car.
the resistance of the air bag sensor is going to be different between the tc and the celica... so of course its not gonna work...
you need to get a multimeter and check the resistance of the air bag sensor in the tc seat and then you can put a resistor in to close the circuit in the car so no air bag light... its been done on this site numerous times... just search think of it as putting a set of sparcos in or something...
