Default System Build- *DIY*

After months and months of waiting and deciding i finally have all the stuff in and ready to begin the build. Ordered all the stuff from sonicelectronix. (good shipping, good packaging, no complaints)

System Elements Include:
2- 12" Alpine Type R
1- 1200 Watt Hifonics Mono Amp
1- Pioneer DEH-P490iB H.U.

here is some pics of the stuff and i will continue to add as i work on it....




set up i think im going to go with...

I like sonicelectronix as well. They're an authorized Kicker dealer so that says a lil something about them. No bad experiences yet for me.

me and my friend are building a sealed box for it with the amp rack in front of it...should look similar to the picture, but in a box

ok sorry i havent updated in a while but havent had time till this weekend, but i have the head unit installed and will be building the box tommorow...

am i completely ignorant or do the back speakers not play music? because i set my settings on the HU to rear and all i heard from the rear speakers was bass and no music? is this normal or am i doing something wrong?

It sounds like the internal crossover is set.

Double check the manual...

finally finished the box up today and am beginning to sand it down and make sure everything is clean. I bought 4 Sheets of MDF Wood (4x3), 1 Silicone Sealing Caulk, Wood Glue, MDF/Hardboard Screws and used a stanard saw to cut everything to dimensions. Here are some pics; this is the first box ive built so i think it came out pretty good. Please feel free to comment.

that is a good set-up you got there and it's gonna pound. yeah sonicelectronix has good prices and they are 25 mins away from me so i go pick my stuff up instead of waiting

thats way better than my first ever sub enclosure. How are you going to finish it? paint, carpet, vinyl, suede?

im probably going to end up carpeting it, i really want to fill it and paint it to match my car body but i dont exactly know what im doing when it comes to all that...so...

the only thing i would suggest... would be to make the box to separate partitions... that way each sub can have its own enclosure...

nah, that is not needed. that i a big car audio myth. leave them together in the same common chamber.

i had a box that shared the same chamber and it hit hard, only thing was that when i opened the hatch it would lose alot of bass but eh i liked it.

wow thats funny i just bought 2 type Rs from sonic electronix and built the same type of box.. O and you should realy build a false floor it will sound better and be more stable.
