System I Purchased - Best Buy!
Alot of people get crazy with these audio systems and spend lots of money and you can hear them from miles away, which Im really not into, but I did want to add some bass to that high vocal tC. So I went a cheap route but I think it will be perfect for me. Here goes...Tell me what you guys think.
My friend installs systems and he knew I didn't want to get crazy so he told me to go to Circuit City or Best Buy and see if they got any packages. So I did. Circuit City had a MTX Audio package for $300 but the box was way to big (2 12's). So I went over to Best Buy and they had a Rockford Fosgate package for $300 as well. It was 2 10's in a box, with a Rockford Fosgate AMP. My friend said it seemed good for the money and for my tastings. What do you guys think?
P.S. I know nothing about systems. I just wanted something with a little bass. Plus Im not changing any speakers or HU (for now).

They also have a 12 package for an extra 20 bucks, but box was way too big once again. And by the way the AMP they sell with my package is normally $260. So I thought this was a great deal.

bazooka has a package at circuit cityhttp://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Bazooka-150W-Amp-and-Dual-10-Subs-with-Enclosure-Partypack-EL10150PP-/sem/rpsm/oid/121893/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
this would sound great in a tc, and its a vented box.

Do you guys think what I bought will be good? Im not asking what I should buy lol. I already made the purchase and I am installing tonight. And just a reminder Im not trying to impress anybody with a sound system, I already have a big *****.
should be fine, sound fine. i bought a similar Pioneer setup when I started stereo.
Only prblem is that your gonna want more stuff once you put the subs in. i said i wasnt gonna get anything else and now im into my second/third transformation of stereo.
anyways, congrats, im sure it will sound good because its yours.

Well you can always return this stuff. Im sure that this will sound OK. BUt as stated above now you will want new speakers and HU to get better sound quality. Thats why i suggested the products above: to save you some money now so that you can get better spoeakers and HU later.
Because you're not an audiophile or anything, and didn't want to make things any more complicated than they had to be, I guess your Rockford Fosgate purchase was descent.
Of course, you may have gotten more bang for your buck if you decided to go online in building your system but you should be happy with the one you got if your not into the whole car audio scene to begin with.

Get a new 12" JL W1v.2, doesn't need a big box so you'll still have room in your hatch and you won't weigh down the car alot..
I have 250watt's going to mine and it sounds amazing.. it's much louder and cleaner sounding then my old 15" kicker.
The sub costs around $100-120 brand new and looks awesome (inverted dust cap with black brushed aluminum in the center where it says 'JL')..

I think that's a pretty nice setup for the money.
I also think that, that setup will completely overpower the stock audio system and sound like Dooo Dooo...
But... to each his own and if you're on a budget or just want to add some bass without worring about the overall quality of sound then it's a good way to go.

yeah, you are going to have to keep the gain at the minimum setting so as not to drown out the underpowered stock speakers. But it'll sure thump. Are you going to run a line-out-converter, or something? How do you plan on getting signal to the amp?

could have done so much better for that much. I spent about 200$ and i got 800w max 400rms sub 850w max mono amp with controller, custom ported box, and installed.
and holy crap it hits. Im gonna be upgradeing to double power soon.

Well I guess you did good then, b/c I could not find a deal like that unless the brand was Jenson. But anyways, the box is in the car, and I love it. Its just what I wanted, clear sounding and not crazy loud. Perfect for me and thats all that matters. Peace
