Default tC 06 pioneer problems

okay crazy problem with the 06 HU on the tc

if i leave my HU on when i shut off the engine, the next time, (morning, cold ones usually), i turn on my engine and i want to lower or raise the volume using the volume ****, this will skip tracks forward if i raise volume, and back tracks if i lower volume

i have to shut off the HU by powering off, then turning it back on... anyone experiencing this?

why hasn't anyone gone back to their dealer and demanded another headunit? that's obviously a defect.. the 05's had the problem not even playing cd's.. and wouldn't eject them..

Happens to me also. I've just been putting off going to the dealer about it. I think 06 xA/xB owners have had the same problems too.

Here's the thread about it:

switch to aftermarket HU! this problem will never be fixed! Its kinda sad when the stock HU is made by pioneer? I didnt want to keep going back to the dealer to fix the radio! I got the 6-cd changer and only used the 1st disk since the rest of them dont work! Poopy HU's!

For me its such a minor problem because i usually use the steering wheel to adjust volume. I should go to the dealer because thats what the warranty is for.
But I dont want to be the boy who cried wolf. You know go in for a very small thing and ____ them off, then for some reason have a major problem and them be butts about it.

Maybe I am wrong but this is something I guess I will deal with until I can afford a doubledin screen.

okay, the results were
We have not find any symptoms of your description of the head unit during your oil change. However, your problem has been log, if it happens again, we will replace your HU
mm great, obviously they wouldn't find a problem because it's during the day. It only happens when the temperature is very cold, like in the early morning -_-

o wellz

i think error 4 means high current.. maybe if you find a really nice dealer, they can goodwill warranty one out for you.. since a lot of the headunits are doing that..

I'll ask Clair Scion, they are so good to NRG members. Thanx for suggestion.

I didn't experience this yet, but I bought my tC in late July 2006, and I replaced it with a good Pioneer HU, right when it's going below freezing in the morning.
