Default TC alarm security install

I bought the OEM alarm upgrade feature for the 07 TC; anyone know how much the install runs? What prices to expect? don't feel like dealing with the wiring.

My thoughts exactly, I usually install everything. And I hate to pay dealer fees for somewhat simple installs, but I hate wiring even more, and my big fat fingers don't fit under the Drivers area very well let alone running small t-taps on tiny wires in a tiny space that's virtually impossible to get my 6'1, 200lb frame to get into. So yeah I'm hoping the dealer won't have a ridiculous fee on this thing.

Default RS3200 security system for TC

just had bb_ist help me instal OEM RS3200 security system for my scion tC. On his xb, it only took about 3 hrs max to install, but it took a good 5 hours to install the same system on my tC just because the wiring was far more complicated, and there's less room to work in.

also, while it only required plug-and-play for the '08 xb's system, the system for tC required you to take certain wires out of original harnesses and also required some splicing. we just were not able to get that wire out of the harness, so we ended up splicing each and ever one of the wires that required relocation on harnesses.

I am a total noob at modding cars, and adding accessories and all that, and my impression is that it's IMPOSSIBLE for a noob like me to instal this thing on your own, so i would not really recommend this project as DIY unless you have someone who knows what's going on in those wires.

^^ yeah.. those wires you speak of still give me trouble sometimes.. i usually use a small pushpin to manipulate them out, but even then it's not always consistent.

you do the same thing with the xA and the original xB as well.. with some wires to play with..

and after installing the 2008 xB alarm for the first time.. (expecting for more wires to play with) i was like.. OMFG....

... whyyyyyyy? lol.

^^ well.. mostly plug and play.. except for one wire to tap, and about 3 wires to exchange and replug (which are the hardest parts and a PITA to do)
