Default tc HVAC LCD question

So I did a full interior LED swap on both gauges and HVAC today to all blue, painted my needles, and everything turned out wonderfully with one exception. My LCD screen is being a booger. We decided not to change the LEDS under the screen because the desoldering braid wasnt working and we were afraid of damaging the display, and I still think we managed to mess it up. When we hooked everything back up, most of the screen worked but not everything. The A/C mode icon works, almost all of the time display, minus the far left portion of numbers, and the gauge of how hard the a/c is blowing doesn't display. Basically, the left 1/3 doesn't display. Anyone out there I could send this to and have them swap out the lcd for me? Anyone with a junk one laying around? Any other ideas are also appreciated. Please excuse the wordiness

make sure that the pins still have a good solder contact with the board and that the solder on the pins are not touching the one next to it. Also, make sure there is not loose "*****" of solder hanging on the board anywhere which could cause it to short out and act funny. You may have done damage also if you left the soldering iron on it to long trying to use the braid. common mistake.

Most likely a messed up solder joint. You can hit me up at engifineer@gmail.com if you want. I can take care of it for you if you send it my way.

Desoldering braid works perfectly if you know how to use it. I use it all the time. I have a desolder iron.. and when I am done with it I use desolder braid to pull the solder out it doesnt get Actually, I probably only save about 5 minutes or so using a desolder iron over just using braid.

But again, the trick is in how you use it, and I have used it a million times so I have a lot of practice with it.

If it isnt cracked, it is most likely fixable.

the lcd itself isnt cracked, but the clear glass that surrounds it does have a small crack after i looked closer. the pins all appear perfect, but the clear piece around the bottom edge does have a small crack. Is it shot?

If you dont see a fine line of black forming in the crack, then it should be ok. It is most likely a bad connection or a solder blob between pins.
