tC radio door in other cars!?
Alright guys, I'm beggin you for some help.
Recently I picked up a tC center console to try and work the radio door into my RSX....
With all mechanism bulkiness, it's just not going to happen. Does ANYone know of a different car or idea of a sliding/opening cover for the radio.
The whole point of it for me is that it provided security and a lil shade when the sun is beating down on the faceplate.
I'll even paypal a nice tip to whoever comes up with the best solution if it works.
Thanks

Why dont you ask the people on your Acura Forum? Seems like a better idea than wasting our time. We probably wont know as much about your car and if the tC part didnt work then be on your way already....

umm.. can you take a picture of your dash? i wanna see what we're working with.... i have a friend with an RSX, but he's out of town right now and i can't really take a close look at it... (never really paid attention either) maybe when he gets back.
The RSX is a nice car. Simmer down, ScionLife.
Randy, You're going to have to modify the radio door anyway, to get the 'scion' logo off. You'd also have to switch the mounting bracket of your radio.
That being said, you might be better off just buying a security faceplate--either one tht flips back and away, or one that's removable.

It's all in good fun. You think if we went onto a RSX or Subi forum and asked for help with our car they wouldn't raze us a bit.
Randy, I hope you don't take any of our razing serious. If I could have helped I would, just wanted to give you a little crap.

and stop acting like scion is the pinnicle of all things automotive, its a good car, but not enough to get an attitude over.
try lincoln navigators, they have a closable door, you could probably fabricate one out of carbon fiber with some of the hinge hardware that the scion uses. anything is possible.

Don't recall having an "Attitude"...
i actually just installed an in dash double din tv in my gf's type-s last week. the way the front cover plate for an aftermarket unit is mounted you would have to cut the top middle section of the front plate to be able to open the door over the head unit.
the rsx doesn't have enough room over the head unit to fit one from a tc in. maybe one of the other cars mentioned above will but i don't know about those.
if you are installing the head unit in the rsx be carefull when trying to get it out. put on gloves. i cut my finger really bad when pushing from behind the headunit. when the clips finally gave the wieght of the head unit came forward hard enough that the bracket it is mounted to forced my finger into another part of the dash and cut my finger bad. it almost took an entire chunck of my skin out. so be carefull.
