Default tc seat questions

hey this might be kinda weird i dont really know i really like the tc mostly the bang for the buck aspect. well i went to the auto show in portland and when i sat in the car it felt a little tight right under my sholder blades. weird thing is im not fat. i do work out alot but other than that i dont know why it would feel so tight? is this normal? if so dose it go away as the seat "breaks in." any input would be great oh and if u needed to konw im 6'4.

i know some taller tC drivers and they haven't had a problem.. but it all depends on how your back is shaped.. but the seats don't really "break in".. mine are as firm as the day i bought the car..

if you do get a tC and the seats bother you..then this is
just a good excuse to put in other sport seats

did you adjust the belt on the side up near the pillar? (or does our car not have that option).

no it wasent the seat belt it was teh seat its self. actully most of the seats there that were heavily bolstered sucked except any of the name brand seats or the mercedes bends seats.... man those were amazing.... how much dose a pair of racing seats and mounting brackets go for and how hard is it to do?

When i first sat in the seat of a tC at the auto show i thought the same thing, but i liked it because it kind of seemed sportier or soemthing.. anyways its not uncomfortable at all i guess i got used to it? after you drive the car for a week or two you probably wont even notice it.

i know my seats are still completely firm and i actually prefer them to the leather seats found in my dad's volvo s60 r and my mom's lexus gx 470 and very much prefer them over my sisters crap cloth seats in her civic ex so i guess it's all just preference. leather is easier to clean, but the stuff in my tC makes me happy.. i like it better overall..

as far as prices goes you can check around at some of the scion online stores that have other seating options, talk to WeDriveScions as he's got some experience there as well, and off hand i remember ZPI having some seats listed.

don't forget to check your local dealerships to see if any of them have a show tC with leather installed on the seats, that might "break in" a bit more than the stock cloth stuff!!

just some of my ideas!

What do you do if you want to replace your seats ..... when I took my seats out to matt the car .....under one of them there were 2 wires and the other 3. with new seats how do you hook the wires up? ...this might be dumb question but i dont know the answer. The stock seats are pretty darn heavy.

I felt the same but i kind of liked it myself....then i got the seat covers and added about a 1/4 inch of cushion which gives the seats a little comfort that it was missing....My GF loves how the new covers feel so i got no problems here....and they look great

Yea a magazine had said in their first day of driving that the seats were uncomfterble, but by the end of the week retracted that and said they were comfterble actually. That they needed adjustment time.

The seats to me, are designed a littel more sporty. They are a little firmer than most are use to and a little more bolstering as well. I think once you get use to the way it feels, you will be fine.

If you have a free weekened, Theres the option of remeoving the seat, an upholstery covering them. Then remove about 1 inch of the factory cushion foam. On this indention, place 1" of memory foam, it can be attached with glue if need be. Then re-upholster it. You will never want to get out of your ride again.

Or, replace the seats with aftermarket. Not sure on size of mercedes seats, but if u have cash to spend, buy new seats from mercedes, check to make sure they will fit within the tc, and have custom seat brackets fabricated.

Do they fit real tight? A lot of times, seat covers hang kind of loose, but those look real good and tight.
