tips for doing the LED roof light swap
This is way easier than any tutorial even makes it sound.
tips:
1) DO NOT TWIST BEFORE REMOVING THE STOCK BULBS! The housings for the bulbs are what is held in place by the threading. If you twist, you'll un-seat the housing, and you'll have to twist it back into place (much easier by using needle nose pliers to do the twisting... it is unbeleivably difficult by hand.
The bulbs just pull straight out, but its hard to do it by hand, so do this:
2) Take a thick rubber band, or other peice of rubber, or maybe even thick paper would work. You just need something with a little grip. Wrap this around the bulb and then use needle nose pliers to pull the bulb out. The rubber allows the pliers to grab the bulb without breaking it, while sill having more then enough grip to pull the bulb straight out.
3) Push the LEDs straight in (make sure the tiny wires on the LED bulbs are lined up how they should be.. they have to make contact with the socket they are plugging into).
You are all done!
I will post picks of mine later, but superbrightleds.com is badass. amazingly fast service. I got the 9-LED for my rear light, and three of the 6-LED bulbs for the front. More than bright enough really... can still use it to read a map or whatever if you need to. Brighter than stock for sure, even if its in a different color (i got blue).

I apologize in advance if this is taken in a bad way but , DAMN people ! It is so simple . You need NO rubber bands or toothpicks or anything else . This is actually funny to read . Just play with them . They come out fairly easily . I am just lost at how hard people make this out to be . No offence meant . I just do not get it . I ordered LEDs and replaced my domes , map , cubby hole ( which CAN be problematic ) and trunk lights . Took me all of 6 minutes .
you seriously must have rubber fingers, because i pulled on them for 15 minutes before i tried my needle-nose-rubber trick.
I just coult NOT get a grip on the bulbs to pull them out... Not all fingers are created equal i guess.
The tip was meant for people who might experience my frustrations, and don't want to "yank" anything out of their ceiling.

i have rubber fingers... lol or just slightly moisten them (aka lick) or something
keep your hands soft and use moisturizer..
but seriously.. if you do lose it... just yank.. it's held in by 3 plastic clips... that's all..

Did mine last night and I did need the needle nose to get one of the front 3 bulbs out, the other 2 pulled right out.
I think it took 5 mins for the front and the back. Pretty easy install

I probably would have busted the bulb without the rubber band wrapped around it to grab it. Your post did come in handy!
The interior is really blue with the foot well, cup holder, storage under the HVAC, and now the dome lights! I'm liking it!!!
