Default total newbie

Just got home from the hospital where I've been the last two days.

anyhow BestBuy has the Pioneer Avic D3 for 699 which seems to be a good local price.

I have a 2008 TC with upgraded Pioneer HU

Question 1 - Is the D3 compatible with the ipod connector and aux in in the center console? ie does it tie into stock wiring harness.
Question 2 - 08s come stock with the sub - is anything else needed to hook this up?
Question 3 - Do the steering wheel control work?

question 4 - I want to replace the two backseat speakers - do I take the panel off?

if somjeone could point me in the right direction with links - that would be great

spent the last two days in a diabetic coma, so I am kind of tired and really am having a hard time focusing on getting the correct searches going.

thanks

Well that is not the best way to spend a weekend.......my best friend also has spent many a weekend that way........

the D3 will not work withthe stock steering wheel controls without a PACI for the D3 which adapts tothe harnes and make the controls work.

the stock plug for ipod willnot work withthe D3 either.....

stock sub will not work with D3 either from what I could figure with out a line out adapter as well.

Yes the panels for rear speakers need to come out.......to get them out you have to remove the panel directly behind rear seats with 10mm socket and also the seat bottom just pulls up and out......that gives you access to the 14 mm seat bolts......once they are out pullout seats

to remove the panel you use screwdriver to loosen catch on hangers in panel and turn them to rear and then straight out.......then remove the plug in floor spot of panel and then tug panel right off.....

Crutchfield is a great place to get the D3 from.......mine was $803 shipped......came with mounting kit......harness........Ipod adapter.......Bluetooth adapter......and they also carry the PACI adapter to make steerign wheel buttons work.....

Hey I'm glad you're out of the hospital and doing better!

But the crutchfield route would be your best choice, they'll even walk you through it on the phone if necessary. Best buy is really not that great of a place to take your car, lots of not that good installers. There might be SOME good ones out there somewhere, but not worth it to take the risk you get one of the many bad ones.

Besides when you see how easy it is to do, you'll be wondering why you didn't think of doing it yourself before.

again, glad you're doing better!

Because the rear speakers are behind the rear quarter panels. All one piece plastic, only way to get to the rear speakers to replace them is removal of the panels.
