Would you guys recommend the Pioneer AVH-P6800DVD or the Apline IVA-W200. I'm not too worried about the price range I just want to know which one is better all around.

alpine will be better, pioneer is low end of the stereo spectrum so to speak, but your best bet, for sound quality is an eclipse double din head unit, and if you swap heads you need to swap components(speakers), I'd go with the alpine out of the two, but I'd choose blaupunkt or eclipse over both of them, as eclipse is like ferrari, and pioneer is like kia, so to speak

 

I basically want one for my ipod connection and for better sound. Out of those two which one would be best?

 

I just got a Kenwood DDX6019. Basically the same thing as the alpine. I'm happy with it...

 

I have D2 and like it lot but if I wasnt wanting the NAV or to add the Nav. I would have gotten the Alpine for sure.

 

Disagree. Like most companies, both of them make low, mid and high-end products. In this case I'd say neither company's products are necessarily superior to the other.

 

I think I might go with the Pioneer.

 

Look at the features, price and appearance of each, then choose whichever meets your requirements and you like best. They're both very good units, so it's 'win-win'. Viewing the two pics in your initial post, I think the Pioneer screen looks much better.

 

Yea.. I want one that has good sound and everything. But adding bluetooth and at that good stuff will add up to like $1800 with installation.

 

get the alpine if you want iPod access...it treats it like a device rather than a CD changer, I hear its insane fast. I have the Pioneer AVIC-Z1...great unit, but the iPod seeking is a bit slow if you have like 900 artists like i do, but if you're looking for an all in one unit, i'd get what I have, its great.

 

Yea... I was thinking of getting that one but I hear Pioneer is a lot better for sound and all around.

 

^^ I would have to disagree with that, it's all a matter of preference but I have had both and I like the alpine sound a lot better than the pioneer. Also you have a ton of control over the sound in the alpine (band width, crossover points etc..)

 

alpine is nice.. ive had it a month and proven to be worth it. pioneer sucks. everyone i know has pioneer is disappointed with one or more of the features

 

the pioneer I gave an arm and a leg for, thats in my truck, in about 3 months(maybe 2 hours use) went out 5 times, the last 3 I plugged it back up, and it started to spark inside the unit, wonder why I hate pioneer?

 

Alpine baby!!! I was messing around with my IVA-D310 yesterday and it is sweet, I can't wait to install it.

 

get the eclipse avn5495, avn5500, or the avn6600, nice!

make sure you check the installation manual on their website to make sure they still use the harness for the steering wheel controls if ur an 06+

 

I went ahead and bought the Alpine IVA-W200. I like it a lot.

 

Great choice! I really want to install my IVA D310, but the weather sucks.

 

so no1 would reccomend the pioneer z1? i liked it.. maybe becasue of the gauges on there also..
