Well, I would take it in and have the airbag system checked. That is what the light is for.

fixing the airbag system.

If you took it to a body shop I would take it back and ask them to finish the job. You could try resetting the ecu, but if that doesnt do it you need to get it fixed. The airbags will not deploy if you get into an accident right now.

if the light is on... usually is means either a sensor is still damaged,,, or there is too high or lowof a resistance in the sensor wires.,... depending on how you were hit is could be either or both.. a scan tool can properly diagnose the problem but the problem is finding a service center.. it might end up being worth the drive to get it fixed.. most body shops can try to repair it.. but a certiffed toyota mechanic is always the best way to go..

any Toyota dealership will service a Scion, that is, unless for some reason the techs and service department have a specific grudge against Scions on a personal level.

Did you miss the fact there's a Camry 2AZ-FE engine under the hood? Celica brake system? Toyota Avensis chassis?

yeah....

and engifineer had it right, cross your fingers you don't get in a serious accident because your airbag will NOT deploy.

it's most likely a damaged or disconnected sensor in the front of the car from either the accident or the repair.
