Underglow blink with car unlock DIY!
*NOTE* I am not responsible for anything you do or do not do.
DIY to make your underglow blink when you unlock your car.
Step one: Take off plastic cover for the drivers side kick panel. (unscrew the plastic nut and yank towards the center consol. It should now look like this (minus a few wires):

Step 2: Locate the grey wiring harness in this picture:

you may have to move some wires out of the way to get to it.
Unplug the connector.
There should be 2 pink wires.

In the picture, the pink wire boxed in red is the positive connection, and the one boxed in black is the negative.
Run a positive and negative connection from your underglow (i ran them from my switch in the dash), tap the 2 pink wires, and connect accordingly. Plug the connector back in, clean up, and test it out.
When you hit the unlock button on your key or in the car, your underglow should blink once. Note that i did this with 4 neon tubes, and i have no idea what will happen if you use l.e.d.s or anything else.
Good Luck!

I would assume that if the switch for the underbody is on, they aren't going to blink. the swtich will already be suppliing constant power, so even if the unlock circuit provides on-off-on-off power, it won't blink because power is already constant from the switch.
on second thought.....DONT DO THIS YET. For some reason, it works fine...until you turn the car on, and then everything melts! So dont do this yet until i can figure out why, or if you can, post it up!
most of the electrical tape was temp to make sure everything worked. Well it works fine when the car isnt on, but as soon as you turn the key, bad things happen. Any suggestions? Like I said, im not an electrician by any means.
what wire are you using to power it? and FUSE IT! always fuse your power wire so nothing get too hot and melts because that could cause permentant damage and make sure you have a good ground
I have a question... when the door locks, would the underglow light then as well?
I would think thats a security risk. If I am not mistaken it is pretty easy for people to ****** those things from under your car. Flashing them right as you walk away may attract thieves.
Of course you have the override switch which helps but still, its something to think about.
