Underglow On/Off with Unlock HELP!
So I though it would be a neat idea for my underglow to blink along with all the other lights when i press the unlock button on my key.
I read through the tech sections on here and I found the necessary wires to lock and unlock the cars, but for the life of me, I cant figure out how to connect the underglow.
according to another thread on here, the wire for unlocking the car is located in the driver side kick panel, on the 20 pin connector, pin 14. I tested the wire, and it does indeed unlock the car when i touch a negative wire to it.
Im not the most experienced electrician in the world, so here's where I get stumped:
I have a positive an negative wire from my underglow, where do i connect them to make this work??? (I tried grounding the negative and touching the positive to the wire, but that doesn't do jack...)
HELP!!!!!!!!!
(oh and if this works, I will write up a tech article for anyone who is interested)

What I had done is my underbody LED kit was tied in to my parking lights. When i locked/unlocked the door, it would quickly flash the underbodys...
Except.... the constant locking/unlocking means that it's a short power surge to the led control box. First it blew fuses.... then it blew the control box.
My recommendation: Don't do it.

well im gonna try it anyway...so where the heck is the wire for the parking lights? the schematic i have says top of fuse box, 30 pin connector, number 29, brown, but i cant really see how many pins are on some of these
I would check out the tC install thread for the puddle lamps. same concept. added bonus is you get the underbody on when the doors come open.

I just finished doing my puddles (xB) and tapped directly into the wires that feed into the dome light switch. whatever position that switch is in, I know what's gonna happen.
the catch here is that you'd be powering the neons from two sources and you wouldn't want the power going upstream thru the dome lamp. some inline diodes would solve that. the other (potentially HUGE) issue is the power draw that the neons pull. could really fry some stuff that way.

alright well i did it! i tapped into the drivers side door motor and it flashes once when i hit the unlock button on my key or inside. I'll post a DIY as soon as i upload the pics
