Default What Amplifer should i get to power this sub?

I am thinking about buying the Elemental Designs 13ov2 sub woofer. I am not sure what amplifier to get to go with this subwoofer. Would you guys recommend this sub woofer? I'm going with ED because i dont want to waste trunk space with a large box.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

13Ov2 can take well over 600w, and love it. Great sub, good choice.

As far as amps, the nine series is out of your price range, and all i've ever run are those and avionixx so I can't help you any farther than that. But the avionixx's are great amps.

If you haven't already bought the sub, go to their package deal page. 1 dual 2ohm 13Ov.2 and a Nine.2 amp is only $348.50 shipped. You may even be able to get a discount off that for being a Scionlife.com member.

The Nine.2 amp is rated for 400W X 1 @ 4 ohms and that should be plenty to move that sub.

I can attest that they sound great and man do they pound!

Thanks for your replies. I will probably call ED but i'm sure there gonna reccomend / suggest one of their own amps (obviously). I'll look into the avionixx like failed ethics said.

I haven't bought the sub yet, so i can check out the package from the ed website.

Thanks fot the feedback. Any other suggestion would be appreciated.

Hifonics does put out quite a bit of power for the price....

That amp will throw the sub around rather well!!!

Elemental designs seem to be pretty cheap, does that reflect in build quality and longetivity or is is just one of those "too good to be true, but its really true" type things?

you're pretty much buying direct, cutting out the middle man. Basically, you're getting the "dealer prices." They use to have a nice chart showing how much it would cost if you bought their products from a retailed, nice discount.

Well, if anything ever goes wrong, we have a 3 year warranty on everything

As failed just mentioned, we sell everything direct. No dealers=no extra markup. Plus most advertising is done through word of mouth or other things like sponsoring this section of ScionLife....a lot less expensive than running ads constantly in different magazines which in turn allows us to keep the costs down.

Regarding what I'd suggest for a 13Ov.2, since I'm the one answering the phones.......Nine.2 is an excellent solution with the dual 2 ohm 13Ov.2. If you ever wanted to upgrade, you could get a Nine.1 for a bit more power and better effieciency but a larger price tag.

The Dual 4 ohm 13Ov.2 is on backorder right now but could go with a Nine.1 if you wanted to get a ridiculous amount of power to it....plus running two of the D4's to a Nine.1 is just about perfect

Thanks for the info. I think i am going to go with the 13ov2 and the nine2 amp. It comes out to be just under $400 which is just in my price range. But i wont be ordering it untill after i install my intake.
