Default What guage did you use?

Ok guys well I will soon be getting my stuff from Elemental Designs...
Edi 6500 for front with a NINe.4 pushing it, two eu-700s under hatch floor cover pushed by a NINe.2x, will also be doing some sound deadening with my 64 sqft of v1se² and two gallons of smurf colored v3. So I have a question for all you car audiophiles... what size power and ground should I run?

I currently have a 4awg ran to rear with a 4/8awg distro for my two amps I had before I think my sub amp was alittle starved but before I permanently finish the eD install once the stuff gets here I plan to check and see how much juice each amp will be getting with my voltmeter. But was wondering what ya'll thought I should do about a power and ground feed... oh yeah also plan to put an xbox in my car or my ps2, and plan to permanently mount my power inverter into my car (makes charging cell phones and plugging in laptops easier during long trips.

Should I leave my 4awg to (2) 8awg alone or should I up it to 0awg to 4awg? Also cap and battery needed or no? Not planning on going crazy with the subs just something that lets you hear the bass but not drown out the mids and highs, but something that will also allow me to plug in a power inverter or my xbox. Thanks guys. Cory

If you have 4 AWG now and you want thicker wiring, just run another 4 AWG to the hatch. Cheaper and just as effective as rewiring it.

alright well i was hoping for that but wasn't sure with the xbox and the invertor if I should run the 0 instead. I will run the 4/8 for now and once everything is good and installed I will check everything with my multimeter. Can't wait to get all my goodies in then I can start having some fun...hopefully if everything goes smoothly I want everything to be stealth amps will be hidden, subs under the floor invertor (still not sure about that location yet and xbox will be later to come but will test the power draws while everything is ripped apart.

ok guys whats some good wires to get? what company? Because I have been having some problems with my rca's it seems as though the wire actually comes loose within the rubber housing around the ends? What company makes good, rca's, distro blocks, power and ground wires, and speaker wires? When you want the best you must ask the best... thats why I am asking ya'll.

actually fellas i ended up buying knukonceptz stuff...liked the looks of the products and also the prices. I would have bought it all from Chris at Elemental Design the other day when i purchased my setup but forgot with my last setup the amp got too hot and when the wire brushed against the amp it melted some of the insulation, plus I think he got more than enough money from me for atleast alittle while. Maybe with all the money I dropped and the commission he will get we will get to see some crazy pics of his insane 32 subwoofers setup, which we have all been wanting to see.

Mandos, what RCAs did you run? I am debating between the Krystals and the eKs. The reason I am debating is because the Krystals say they have triple shielding and are twisted, and the eKs dont mention shielding at all. in the description if the eKs they call them "high end home theater kable," which makes me think that the Krystals may be better for the auto application.

illiniguy, i'm not mandos but I am going to be running the Krystal RCA's because of two reasons... 1) like you said the triple shielding and twisted pair make it worth the money 2) I read Chris' post on both this forum and the ICIXsound forum where he had his list of all the goodies he bought from Knukonceptz... so if they are good enough for Chris' ride then we should be more than happy with them, seeing that he is one of the top dawg on this board.
