Pioneer's 10" slim will fit. I have a friend who runs it in the stealth box. Sound quality is not as good with it, but output is quite a bit better. My personal choice is the Pioneer between that and the SQ10. SQ10 just isn't loud enough by itself.

If you talk about this matter with anyone else, please do not bring my name up. I'm contractually obliged not to talk about eD in any negative manner since I'm a local dealer for them.

If you need any help with this or any audio matter, feel free to contact me.
Will the holes drilled to mount the sq10 match with the pioneer? Im running a kicker zx400.1 mono to the sq10 and i think it blew already,im not sure. But it sounded like crap upon arrival, it looked extremely worn too. Something inside the sub itself was rattiling excessively.

I'm not to sure about the holes being drilled. the pioneer comes with a rubber gasket around the lip of it. it should seal the old holes if you had to drill new ones. and rattling? where did you get that thing. You might have the rattle mistaken for the false floor. that flap that sits right above the sub vibrates like fuggin nuts. it drives me mad sometimes i just turn the music up louder tho. but that doens't always work. I'm gonna figure something out about that thing though.

no i know that stupid rattle your talking about. Im talking about the sub itself was rattiling like blown speaker does. My solution for that false floor rattle was gluing on thin pieces of wood or anything to raise it a bit. But anyways i found this fosgate shallow mount also. I noticed its 11" width though and 3.5" top mount depth. The sq10 according to ed's website is 10.250" width and 3.4", im considering my options here before i might have to pay for another sq10

WTF the ed site says the cut out for the SQ10 is 9.125 inches. How can that even be a 10 inch sub if the cut out is less than ten inches. I have the Pioneer TS-SW2541D which is 11.125 inch cutout. the RF you were looking at is 11 even according to that site. so either that guy lied to me or the numbers are off on the ed site. personally i think it's the latter. But the RF is an eighth of an inch smaller so it might fall thru i dunno how big the lip is on the ED box, I built my own. Personally I like my pioneer. I know that there is better but one i don't have the money, and i really don't care that much. I really don't like the ED's i've heard about them messing up and the look really cheap i mean it is a $70 sub. I would measure the lip of your box and the mounting depth (but i really don't thing the one tenth inch difference is gonna matter) before you got the fosgate. and if you get it save 12 bux and go ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Rockford-Fos...d=p3286.c0.m14

I just got my 2 Pioneer Premiers in last week. I'm very eager to get them going and check them out.
The enclosure should arrive tomorrow. It's an ED-like design, but 2x10" and fiberglass.

I was wondering if I would have to rout out the holes any. It had 2 SQ10 subs in there before. Judging by the size specs posted online, it won't fit without routing... I hope that isn't the case.
I can't understand why ED would advertise a 9" sub as 10".

However, I am going to be pushing them with an ED NINe.2x. I've only read good things so far about their amps.
Hopefully it will all work out without too much hastle.

The box I got in today previously had 2 SQ10 subs in it.
I measured the cutout diameters, and they were just over 9" I believe... which is what EQ says they shoulid be.

The Pioneer shallows ALMOST fit into the hole without modification.
The box and Pioneers are currently at a local shop being put together. The guy said the hole would just have to be routed out very slightly... no big problem.

Hopefully it's all getting installed tomorrow.
I wanted to have my new components put in at the same time, but oh well.... It will be cool to see the improvement steps individually too.

I will start off by saying that I know home audio better than car audio and my knowledge is about average on car audio. When I had my old car I went to a local shop that I like/trust. After listening and pricing on my budget, 18 at the time, I bought Pioneer Premier 3-way speakers. They were the lower end speakers. I asked why they were not significantly better on paper and basically they said that they were built better then the ones at bestbuy and such so they would sound better and take more abuse/wattage without blowing (I think they said they were "higher end"). (I have no idea if it is true or not.) I love my Premiers and I have them in my tC now. The biggest thing that I can say is that they are Pioneer Premiers and not Pioneers. So it is more of show/bragging than anything in my book. If I had the right measuring equipment I might be able to tell the difference. But I love them and would buy them again. I hope you enjoy your subs as much as I have enjoyed my speakers.

The only concern I have is about the airspace in the box...hopefully there is enough for both of them.

In case you missed the post where I explained, I called Pioneer directly and one of the tech support people told me that the Premier line actually has some better components... like better glue, and whatever else... and the Premiers come with a 2 year warranty from Pioneer, where the regular ones don't.

can anyone confirm the pioneer premier shallow mount 10 will fit into a SQ10 stealth box without modification? I just bought one

Read my last few posts...
Even the part you quoted answers your question.
The box I just received yesterday previously housed 2 SQ10 subs. My Pioneer Premier shallows were barely too big. The holes are being slightly enlarged.

The difference seemed to be very slight... so depending on who cut the SQ10 holes, it might fit without modding it.

My box was custom made, not by ED.

yeah thanks for the quick response. let me rephrase my question then! Can anybody with the sq10 single stealth box (made by E.D) confirm that the pioneer shallow mount will fit without modification? BTW ill have a sq10 up for grabs soon if anyone is interested.

If anything, it'll be a tiny bit too small... obviously better than being too big.
Let us know how it works out for ya.
I can't wait to get mine hooked up tomorrow!!!!

Now that I'm thinking about it....
I don't know much about airspace and how having too little affects things.... if it's actually bad for speakers or if it just hinders the sound capabilities...

But I think the ED box is only .3 cubic feet, and the Pioneers require a minimum of .35.
Small difference, but when you're dealing with such a small number to begin with, it might matter.

I'm worried about mine as well. The guy who made the enclosure says he measured airspace at .98 cubic feet... bigger because it is fiberglass and able to fill the available space better....
And the sides of ED's box are recessed in for some reason.

Well.... the new box, new subs, and new amp are now installed.
They sound pretty badass IMO... especially for taking up NO trunk space!!
I'll take a few pics and make a thread soon, if anybody is interested.

*THIS IS PURELY MY OPINION DONT JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS AND SAY IM KNOCKING THE SQ10!*

well thats what proper research is before buying something! It doesnt fit and im concerned the E.D stealth box is too small. This thing is massive compared to the sq10. Take a look! Pioneer premier shallow mount 10" subwoofer
feels way more solid and reliable in my opinion than the sq10

An idea of how much has to be cut out of inside diameter

thisis what concerns me. Even after cutting so it can mount, look how close it is to the side of box. This thing is massive! Im not going to attempt to cut it bigger myself and waste more money than i have

Where can i take it to get cut bigger? Also can anyone confirm they have successfully fit a pioneer premier into the E.D stealth box? It doesnt look possible to me. If not how much do shops charge average to make a box for that same spot next to the spare. Thanks guys!
