when leaving for work this morning i needed to roll down my windows because it was crazy foggy, my passenger window wouldn't move using either switch.......
I didn't recently disconnect the battery, the other window works fine... didn't think to check the sunroof cause i was running a little late.....

i am finding this very odd......
quick search yeilded nothing
lets see what I get from this. then maybe off to the dealer! hi-ho hi-ho....

 

you need to reset your windows. Heres how you do it:
1. Roll driver window half way down
2. Roll Driver window all the way up and hold button for about 5 secs then try all the windows and sunroof.

Should work perfectly!

 

reseting it was the first thing I tried.

edit: faked a smoke break (even though I don't) and tried again and checked the sunroof, still nothing from the passenger side at all.

 

either rip the door panel apart, or go the safew route and swing by the dealer.
Tell work you have to go get that missing part that doesnt exist for that thing in your office....worked for the smoke break didnt it...

actually I don't have to ask for the break, i just walked out for 5 minutes or so, thats the way the smokers do it.

Have you checked the window lock button on the drivers side? It is very easy to accidently lay your arm on it and press it. That will prevent the passenger side window from operatiing.

 

i don't think I have ever used that button before. but why would that stop the driver side button from working? hmmm...
i hope it really is something stupid like that, i'd rather not have to take it in.

 

It would stop both sides from working. I've hit it accidentally too.

 

Yeah the only window that doesnt stop from working is the driver side window. Its just like any other car with a window lock, once the lock is in place all windows are locked in their current position except for the drivers window.

I made the mistake once in my tC and my lead tech laughed at me lol.

 

thats weird, on my moms car and my dads truck, if you hit the window lock button, it only disables the other switches the ones on the driver door still all work.

but it is sounding like this is my problem and I hope so, I would rather look stupid than take my car in for an electrical problem.

but i wonder how I hit the button..... i drive with my left hand so I don't rest it on the door..... maybe I did it when I was rolling them down in the first place.

 

I've hit it by accident.. didn't even notice.

I THINK it locks down the driver's window too... can't remember.... I'll test it later.

right now im in another department, so may car is on the other side of the building. as far from my car I can get without going out the door in the weight room, its a big building we have here.

 

Nah...only locks the passenger side...almost totally positive

 

The window lock button locks ALL windows....even the drivers side.

I believe they did that so you could play that game where you fart in the car, then lock the windows on the other person. Had a buddy that used to do it to his gf....and she broke up with him...wonder why.

 

ok i just got back from my "break" and yea the button was on.

it locks only the passenger window on both switches.

must be just chevy's that only disable the passenger switches but leave the driver ones on. i prefer it that way but i will survive. im glad it was an easy fix.
