this is a Q-logic box for a 12" sub.right now it houses a infinity reference 1211W sub.i dont know but to me it sounds like ____.i have a jl w0 10" in a sealed box in my truck and it puts this 12" to shame.what would you say is a good sub for the space that gives off nice tight bass

Any idea what the internal volume of that enclosure is? Looks fairly small, and if it's not big enough for the sub, that could be the cause. When a box is too small, the resonant frequency goes way up, such that you won't get the truly low-end frequencies.

The tech specs for that sub indicate it needs 1.5' for a sealed enclosure, so if your current box isn't 1.5' internal, it's too small for your sub. The tech specs also indicate the sub only has 4.5mm Xmax, which isn't a lot of excursion, and is often an indication that it may perform better in a vented alignment. You'd need a 2.0' enclosure for a ported design with that sub, using a vent of 4"I.D. with a length of 8.11", which results in tuning of 35Hz, per Infinity's specs.

If you want to get the most output for that particular sub, I'd suggest using Infinity's recommended vented enclosure, as described above.

im more interested in using the box than sub.
its 15" wide x 15" tall.the base is 12" and the top is 9"
im not good at figuring ou what subs work in what box.
ok,the inside has a sticker that says its .85 cu ft of space.what would be a good sub for that amount of space

^ Oh, well that's a totally different matter.

So now you're looking for a 12" sub that will work optimally in a 0.85' sealed box. There are lots of subs available that would work well.

How much do you want to spend?
What amp will be powering it?

so far 1.25 is the smallest i can find.damn.i "could" cut a piece of board to fill the front up and cut a new 10" hole..85 for a sealed box and a nice JL sub woud work good.

Ok, I'm actually familiar with that amp, and it should be adequate, imo. You'll need a 4-Ohm load on that amp when bridged, and it'll put out at least 300 watts. So the choices are either a single voice coil 4 Ohm, 2 Ohm DVC wired in series, or 8 Ohm DVC wired parallel, all of which need to work well in .85' sealed.

How much do you want to spend, and do you care more about sound quality or having it as loud as possible?

Here are a few examples that would work well with your box & amp;

I really like that first one best, the others are decent too, but there are many more on the market for you to choose from.
