what's this for???
I ended up getting a different color tC, (now I have white!!) and where the optional switches go (fog lights, scion security, etc) there's what LOOKS to be the switch for the lights that go in the footwells.
However, when I looked under both foot areas, I didn't even see a spot for the cathodes to go. Also, when I opened my fuse box under the streering wheel, the switch I'm talking about has 2 red wires coming out of it. Each lead under the wire covers next to where you step when getting in the car (hope i made that clear enough)
Any ideas???? Turning it on & off does nothing as far as I can tell, but they obviously go somewhere!

Is it a toggle switch or a button switch? My 05 came with the footwell illumination and it had a 3 stage button switch (both on, driver only, both off).
If the wires only go to the fuse block, then it sounds like it's just pre-wired for something.

It's a toggle switch with either on or off. Also, there's something hanging that's not plugged in in my fuse box. I plugged it in, no difference in anything. I'll take a picture in a few minutes to better show, because i'm totally baffled.

Maybe someone had something installed and took it out, and just left the switch there.
Also, the lights are just zip tied somewhere in the footwell. There isn't a specific designated location for them.

There are plastic panels that they poke through. Then they kind of just throw the light on it and zip tie it lol.
If you're planning on doing them, I suggest just buying some real cathodes and doing it, because the lights they have are terrible. They're not even cathodes...it's a cluster of LEDs at the and a long tube to spread the light. I swapped it out for 12" cold cathodes and the lighting dramatically increased.

I went to get a new key for my car and asked the people there if they could figure it out. Turns out, I have street lights!!
Now the problem is, they don't turn on... Any help with that?? Be nice to see what they look like when on. There are 2 red cords connected to the back of the switch that both go under the door sills, there are lights under the car, and theres a black cord that was unplugged. After plugging it into the back of the switch, they still don't turn on.
Ideas/thoughts? Thank you to all of you who have replied so far!

to fix your cover? depends.. if it's broken.. it's broken.. probably missing a piece... at which then you would need to find that piece or replace the thing..
(and again with the whole thing about buying a used car..)

Hey anyone got the tCover? I took my door out and cant figure out how to get it back together and may be missin a few of the components to make it fully functional. Will the tCover work without all the stock springs/gears watever. Or do i need a actuall assembly that works? Anyone know.
