Whats the difference in between an 8-ohm sub and a 4-ohm sub

Default Whats the difference in between an 8-ohm sub and a 4-ohm sub

Does n e one know what the difference is in between an 8-ohm sub and a 4-ohm sub... i think it means more power or like it sounds better or somethin... but im not sure....

Impedance of VC. 4 ohm would get roughly 2x the power out of an amp that an 8 ohm speaker would.

Affects which amps you can buy based on how many speakers you're getting

So would it b better to get the 8 ohm sub if i want less or more power? i want my car to rattle...

It depends solely on what amp you're going to use... it also depends on what voice coil configuration youre getting (dual or single)....

Your amp (or the amp you're looking to buy) will be rated at a certain impedance (resistance/ohms) for a particular power output... generally an amp that is rated 500x1 @ 4ohms will put out around 250x1 @ 8ohms because that 8ohm is more resistance to electrical current
