it sounds like a pretty sweet deal, i have a sony explods 1400 watt amp and it works pretty good, plus you might be able to bargain with them, try to get wires and install free, it would be a steal

Not everyone is an audiophile though. Many people are perfectly happy with their stock HU and stock speakers and a lot of people think that the bazooka sounds good.

And a lot of other people who spend thousands of dollars on their sound systems think they suck.

Its all preference.

When you say worst quality stuff, are you referring to a list of problems that these specific speakers/amps have that are well known, or that according to just you, the quality isn't up to your specs and you require something higher quality?

I guess I can find a similarity to your statement and this one. Does an AMD Duron processor suck? Well, depends on who you are. For me, it sucks, but for my parents who do nothing but surf the net, it is perfectly fine.

^^^ very true

I personally would not buy the sony package but that doesnt mean it sucks.

If you just want bass, then do it, it will give you plenty of bass. sony amps do tend to get VERY VERY VERY hot so make sure you dont plan on putting it in the cubby without venilation.

As for getting the amp kit and install for free, dream on, i would never give that stuff out for free, thats where we make our money back, lol

I have had a bunch of sony over the years. I will say they kinda suck only because they have a horrible tendancy to crap out after very little time. The subs sound ok, but the overall build quality is rather poor. As far as the amps, i dont know too much about them, but i hear they are good if you dont ask too much of them.

being an audiophile has nothing to do with saying sony speakers are too expensive for what you get.

thats being a smart consumer.

Would you rather buy something less expensive with better quality? or spend more jsut for a sony name even if its not the same quality?

I am just going by what he said "worst quality stuff for what you pay".

What exactly about its "quality" is less sufficient than other similar priced items?

If you can provide a side by side review from several reputable sources that all say that one particular sony branded item has poor quality compared to a lesser priced, different branded item, then I will see your point.

If you can find a better "quality" setup than what he has listed for the same price, please do so and maybe you will be helping out more people besides just the op.

http://www.edesignaudio.com/groupbuy.php

1 13Ov.2 D2 - $135 (single 12" sub)
1 Nine.2 - $175 (400x1@4ohm)

30Hz Ported box - ~$100 (or $30 if you can build yourself with some plans)

PM Mandos on here for more information / final pricing...
this would probably be louder and would for sure sound better than the sony setup... ED has EXCELLENT build quality and a 3 year transferable warranty
