Default Where to ground amp and run power wires?

Hi all,
I have done wiring for my old 98 corolla and 05 Matrix but I'm stumped as to where to ground my amp in the trunk. I don't see any readily available bolts on the body. Suggestions?

Where did you put your ground wire in the trunk? I always use a wire brush attachment on a drill to remove the paint for proper ground so it has to be easily accessible for a drill.

Also I was thinking about running my 4ga. power wire through the grommet but that is soo high and hard to reach. I was thinking about drilling through the firewall and putting a grommet. You think there is enough room in that factory grommet on the driver's side for a 4ga. wire?

Drilling the firewall easier? I'll post my setup once it's done.

I look forward to your responses and thanks in advance.

if you take out some more bolts you'll find plenty. there is always the shock tower bolts or the rear seat bolts. just make sure to dremel off any paint that was on them

Car manufacturers often use Loctite in these locations that would further reduce conductivity.

Again - find the frame. Sand it down. Stainless steel screws FTW.
There are 2 layers of sheet metal in the hatch and you can pretty much drill a hole wherever. Just double check before you do.

stainless screws? meh

use bolts. much better than screws = more contact area = more area for current to flow.

Thanks tC peeps. I'm also looking at Mandos's "How to gut a tC. https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=60981

Hard to force the 4ga. wire though the gromet on the driver's side? I'm planning on forcing it out to the engine cabin from the inside cabin.

because 2 for the power (he planned on having 3 nine.1's i think) and one for ground. The best ground is the negative of the battery so he wanted the cleanest ground he could possibly find.
