Default while painting your interior....

Ok so after seeing all of these unique interiors I decided to take the plunge and do it myself. So far so good, dont want to take pics until im completely finished but i have a question or 2. I sanded with 400-600 grit...primed it..sanded...primed it.... then put my first coat on and second ect. THEN finally did the clearcoat. Looking at all the peices they look good and shiny but not as smooth and shiny as I wanted. The obvious answer is more sanding. But since i didnt the clear coat what grit should I use? 1500? 2000? And after I use either or, do I reapply the colored coating...or just the clear coat?

Thanks in advance.

I've read through numerous DIY on here but couldnt find an exact answer. Thanks again guys.
