Just curious if anyone recognizes this car. Someone from YSTC thought that it belonged to someone on here. I am interested in the shift ****. I have seen one on ebay but it has plastic inserts for it and I am curious how they stay in it without the **** simply sliding off.

Also, can anyone tell me if this is an Apexi or HKS axle back. Love the car btw!

Sorry, I couldn't get the pictures any larger. The **** is just a simple carbon ball style. Pics are pulled from another forum and were taken at a meet down in NC if that helps any.

What brand is the shift ****? I just see a ball. I have a TWM with inserts and it just screws in. Plastic inserts screw into the ****. **** screws onto the shifter.

I found this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-C...Q5fAccessories

It just says that there are sleeves that go in it. And I also found this one:

This one shows pinch screws (something I want to stay away from). Perhaps the pinch screws are what helps to hold the plastic tubes in place. Just don't want something that is going to be coming lose on me.

I think I figured it out. It looks like they come with a small screw that goes through the plastic insert (insert through bottom of insert where shift lever would go) and then screws into the ****. This would hold the plastic insert in the **** and then the shifter would screw into it. Makes sense now. Finally saw a couple of others with similar inserts and noted a small scre win the pictures of one, holes in the tops of plastic inserts in another and finally what looks like a hole in the shift **** shaft bottom.

Sorry, not sure if they two cars were the same or not. They were next to each other in the thread I pulled them from and just figured they were but I really have no idea.

I just got the monsterknobs ball shifter and it's great. Nicely crafted piece and fits perfectly in your hand and no adapters to worry about, just screw it on.

I think this would work but a 2" ball is pretty big. I think my old Sparco and my current Kart Boy are maybe 1.5-75". Also, these appear to just be black resin and not carbon fiber either.

I may just go with another alluminum one. I am only changing because, my Kart Boy has a milled out ring around the bottom of it for the stock suby boot to fit onto. Since our boot is different it leaves the ring hanging out and you can feel it on your fingers when you are shifting, not to mention that it is a bit of an eye sore. Not that I can really see it when I am driving but I can feel it and I know it is there if that makes any sense.

So I just ordered a custom shift boot for the car. Went with a Gray alcantara w/ black stitching. Figure I will wait for it to show up to see if I can figure out a fix and use my Kart Boy ****. If not, I will just order an Agency Power **** and go from there.
