Default Will the Pioneer AVIC-N3 fit?

I was looking into navigation/DVD players for the dash and found this:
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...unit=AVIC%20N3

My friend also has one and I love it, but when I open the radio cover, it still sticks out a little at the top and not sure if it will work when the screen comes out and stands erect. I would hate to take the cover off, because it think it would be cool if I can "hide" it. So, will this fit or do I have to customize some stuff?

It won't work with the cover.... the z1 is your best best... double din touch screens are the best way to go with our cover....

Oh, that really sucks. And it's more expensive. Plus, the N3 is more cooler. Crap. It's not POSSIBLE at all?

I wonder if I can make it stick out a bit further so it won't touch the cover tip.

Many people have removed the cover but I'd personally go with the avic-z1 if I had the money

I like the cover, it "hides"it. I think the N3 is cooler because it slides in and out, and it's also cheaper. I'm not sure if I can make it stick out a bit more to give the screen more room? Think that'll work?

I put the n3 in my tc a few months ago. I knew there was going to be a clearane issue and I wanted to keep the cover, so I modified the cover with a dremel tool. Took a couple hours because you need to be very careful, but it turned out really nice.

Dude, take pics of it. I still want the cover to still fill out the square tho. Did you like cut the bottom of the cover or something? Because I don't want like a strip of a missing part of the cover.

I cut out a section between the lines that come down on the sides. So now there is a rectangular section missing on the bottom of the cover. It works out quite nice since you need a double-din to a single-din mounting kit. The stereo will install in the top bay, and you'll have the bottom bay for storage. When the cover is closed, you still have full access to the storage.

I'll take some pictures tomorrow and get them posted as soon as I can.
